You Keep Me Sane® was born from almost a decade of daily WhatsApp voice messages between two best friends, Aileen and Julie. Living on opposite sides of the world—London and Melbourne—they stayed connected through honest, unfiltered conversations that became a lifeline. Over time, they realised it wasn’t just the act of sharing that mattered—it was the vulnerability and deep connection that helped them grow, feel seen, and ultimately, find more happiness.
They knew the space they’d created for each other—raw, supportive, and judgment-free—was something many people needed but often struggled to find. Life isn’t always neat, and it’s in the uncertain, messy moments that being heard and understood can make all the difference.
At its core, the podcast is an extension of their friendship—a space where vulnerability leads to connection, connection fosters growth, and growth brings us closer to the kind of happiness that’s real and lasting. They don’t have all the answers, but they do know this: when we’re honest about what we’re feeling, we feel less alone. And that’s where true connection—and change—begins.
Aileen Harvey is a Scottish-born Londoner with a life story shaped by resilience, reinvention, and a deep desire to support women through life’s challenges. With a background in the high-pressure world of finance, she spent years navigating a demanding, male-dominated industry before burnout pushed her to reassess what truly mattered.
At 40, she traded corporate life for sunshine, moving to Spain as a single mother to raise her daughter. While seeking peace, she discovered that happiness isn’t found in places but within ourselves. Now back in London, Aileen faces the ups and downs of perimenopause, parenting a teenager, and embracing life’s complexities—all of which inspired her to co-create You Keep Me Sane.
Through the podcast, she channels her life experience—growing up in a challenging family dynamic, working in tough environments, and navigating personal growth—to create a space where women feel heard, understood, and less alone.
Julie’s journey has always been driven by a search for depth, purpose, and connection. Born in Brisbane and raised on 40 acres in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, she craved more than the boundaries of rural life. At 20, she left Australia with just a working holiday visa and spent the next 18 years living and working across six countries, from Canada to Israel.
Her love for people and their stories led her to a career in documentaries, filming for National Geographic, BBC, and Discovery Channel. Yet, despite the dream job, she felt an inner pull toward something deeper. Studying psychology and Kabbalah, becoming a mother, and embracing life’s challenges helped her find that missing connection—not through achievements, but through vulnerability and growth.
Now based in Melbourne, Julie’s life experiences, from global travels to motherhood, have inspired her to co-create You Keep Me Sane. Through the podcast, she shares her story to help others feel seen, heard, and less alone—because true connection often begins where we least expect it.
